Meet Lauren

Owner, Clinical Herbalist, Medical Cannabis Caregiver

Lauren is a Clinical Herbalist who opened Seed Sound in 2018. She believes that herbal medicine should not be the alternative medicine, it is the original medicine. Where allopathic medicine has a very important role, we should be looking to our plants for preventative care and for ailments that are not life threatening. Although Cannabis is more regulated than the other herbs we use at the shop, we are able to integrate it into healing modalities for our Medical Cannabis patients. Lauren is ready to support you on your herbal healing journey by empowering you to heal with the guidance of her knowledge in herbalism.

  • Lauren Beatrice has lived in Maine since 2010
  • She is a homesteader and a mama of two
  • She is a reiki master and a clinical herbalist
  • She studied at Greenwood Herbals with Debbie Mercier in Limerick Maine
  • Lauren has had the opportunity to attend classes by many other amazing herbalists such as Matthew Wood, Margi Flint, Sajah Popham and Rosemary Gladstar
  • She has been working in the medical cannabis program since 2010

“I believe cannabis is just another medicinal herb that should be on the shelf in the apothecary. I would like to help medical cannabis patients with treatment utilizing both medicinal cannabis and combinations of other medicinal herbs to find their perfect healing modality,”

Lauren loves the integration of a variety of medicinal herbs to help heal your body. She is passionate about spreading the knowledge of how these herbs work in our bodies.

Meet Rosie

Clinical Herbalist, Production Manager

Rosie is a long time plant lover, blossoming herbalist and flower essence practitioner with a passion for all things wild.  She moved to Maine in 2015 on a mission to share her collective knowledge and experience on plant based healing modalities with the small and rural communities that co-exist here. She is honored to have had the opportunity to study herbal medicine with some of the wisest women around, including Jane Bothwell of the Dandelion Herbal Center in Kneeland, CA; Rosemary Gladstar of Sage Mountain Herbal Center in East Barre, VT; and Lupo Passero of Twin Star Herbal Education in New Milford, CT.

When Rosie isn’t at the apothecary creating and connecting people with healing remedies, she enjoys hiking and swimming with her dog, Sage, traveling to explore new cultures and places, seeing live music (especially her favorite band, Phish!), and working on her personal offerings at Blessed Bee Botanicals.

“Cannabis is the plant that introduced me to the whole world of medicinal plants.  Seed Sound offers the best of both worlds and I’m so grateful I get to share that experience with this community.”

Meet Trisha

Clinical Herbalist

Introducing sweet and charming Trisha! She’s our hidden treasure that runs the Apothecary on Fridays. Her soul feeds on sunshine and music. She loves plants, especially moss and ferns. Her good-feel smells are lavender, chamomile and rosemary.

She loves filling her yard with whimsical decor and her house is dressed in vintage. Kayaking and  family-time are her favorite activities. She’s beyond elated to have this opportunity to expand her herbal knowledge and to be a part of our amazing crew, and we loved her the moment she walked through the door!

Meet Dessi

Clinical Holistic Nutritionist, Herbalist, Reiki Master and Yoga teacher

Dessiree is a clinical holistic nutritionist, herbalist, Reiki master, and yoga teacher devoted to helping others reconnect with the wisdom of their bodies and the healing power of the earth. With a background in neuroscience and dual master’s degrees in Clinical Nutrition and Public Health, she approaches care through both a scientific and spiritual lens—holding space for the body’s stories, cycles, and signals. Her work is deeply rooted in the belief that nourishment is not just about what we eat, but how we live, breathe, and connect.

In her free time, Dessiree tends to her small farm, raises her daughter with intention and spirit, runs her private practice Root & Rise Nutrition, and serves as the Director of Operations for The Postpartum Project, a nonprofit expanding access to in-home care and support for families in rural Maine.

Dessiree joins Seed & Sound with a deep reverence for land-based healing and a commitment to restoring collective and individual wellbeing through community education, plant-based care, and radical self-trust.
